The Battle of Marathon took place in the North-eastern region of Attica in 490 BCE. It was part of the first Persian Invasion that would fall upon Greece. An Athenian General by the name of Miltiades, weekend the center of the large Persion army which left the wings of the opposing military force weak. His strategy had made them victorious. Shortly after the victory, you, Philippides, an athenian runner was sent to inform Athens of the great victory.
